Space Usage Guidance
Ulster University’s Guiding Principles for Space Usage have been developed to support students, colleagues, and visitors to get the most out of the teaching, learning, office, social and research spaces across all our campuses.
The principles outline what good practice looks like when it comes to how we use our physical space.
They are aligned to Ulster University’s Values which set the tone for everything we do at Ulster;
- Integrity
- Collaboration
- Inclusion
- Enhancing Potential
Space Usage Guidance provides some important detail under the headings of:
- Safeguarding Health & Safety
- Committing to inclusivity & Accessibility
- Respecting Space and Others
- Matching the Space to the Need
- Taking Accountability for our Bookings
- Protecting confidentiality
Shared Office Guidance
Across our campuses some colleagues will work within shared offices based on the ‘neighbourhood’ design of the buildings.
This facilitates bright working environments and an enriched degree of collaboration and social interaction.
Following engagement with colleagues and acting on feedback, guidance has been developed for those working within shared office spaces to demonstrate what good looks like when it comes to a safe, comfortable, and positive working environment for all.
Shared Office Guidance provides guidance under the following headings:
- Keep it clean
- Be Mindful of Noise
- Keep it Confidential
- Be Aware of Smells
- Be conscious of Boundaries
- Keep Safe
