Caroline Courtney has a BA in Economics and French from UCD, an MSc in Economics from UCL and a PhD in Education from Ulster University.
Her PhD took a Critical Discourse Analysis approach to examining donor strategies for investing in education in developing countries.
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the UNESCO Centre, she gained fieldwork experience in Kenya, where she explored the relationship between education sector governance, equity and peacebuilding. More recently, she has worked as a consultant for the Global Partnership for Education, reviewing and evaluating national education sector plans.
