20 years in the making, Amanda Dunsmore has been producing video portraits of community and political leaders behind the ‘Good Friday’ Agreement, sitting in silence.
Featuring many familiar faces from Nobel Laureates John Hume and David Trimble to Monica McWilliams and Pearl Sagar, the World Premiere of a new digital portrait of Mo Mowlam created using machine learning and archive video from RTE, these leaders in the ‘Good Friday’ Agreement remain silent in this installation, leaving visitors to consider their own position on the last 25 years.
Funded in partnership with National Lottery Heritage Fund, QUARTO Collective are inviting 6 communities across Northern Ireland to host the artwork for a short period. In doing so, the communities will talk about the principles of agreement and what the ‘Good Friday’ Agreement means to them today?
AGREEMENT is open to visits by the general public from Saturday 15th April - Thursday 20th April during University opening hours. The community installations will be taking place over the course of the summer. Details to follow as a result of a co-design process with communities.
An associated exhibition of new work by Amanda Dunsmore, MEMENTO - AGREEMENT opens at Ulster University Art Gallery 12th April and runs to 22nd May.
This project is:
