Turner Prize-winning and globally exhibited artist, Jeremy Deller, will be visiting the Belfast Campus at Ulster University as part of a unique collaboration with Out To Lunch Festival

His new publication ‘Art is Magic,' explores a holistic and revealing account of the inspirations, passions and practices of one of the country’s foremost contemporary artists.

In conversation, he will talk about his work and how its playful, political and provocative approach borrows from many forms and is produced over many mediums. The artist discusses his approach behind works like SANCTUARY, a full scale replica of Stone Henge as bouncy castle; The Battle of Orgreave - a mass performance artwork revisiting the suppression of miner strikes and protests by authorities; and we're here because we're here where thousands of silent, ghostly soldiers in World War 1 military uniform appeared across the UK upon the centenary of the Somme.

Art is Magic is the first book in which the artist reflects on the entirety of his career, his life and his art. Published by Cheerio
