Goat Songs was commissioned in the depths of the 2020 pandemic lockdown, as theatres had been closed for many months. Following strict coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines, we filmed it at our Riverside Theatre on the Coleraine campus towards the end of lockdown in 2021.
When theatre is only digitally captured on video, what do we miss about the ‘live’ experience? Why does it matter? Goat Songs is part satire about how theatre is seen and part proclamation about why it is absolutely necessary.
Presented as a series of monologues exploring the very nature of theatre in the absence of a ‘live’ audience, Goat Songs is available to watch all together in the omnibus edition or by picking your favourite act.
