1. The Promoter
The promoter is Ulster University (registered with company number RC000726) of Cromore Road, Coleraine, Co. Londonderry BT52 1SA.
2. The Competition
The title of the competition is “Win a Share of £2000”.
3. How to Enter
- The competition will run from 5pm on 27 March 2024 (the “Opening Date”) to 11.59pm on 6 June 2024 inclusive (the “Closing Date”).
- All competition entries must be received by the Promoter in accordance with condition 3.3 below by no later than 11.59pm on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
- To enter the competition:
- Post a picture, story or reel of your lanyard to Instagram and tag us using our handle @UlsterUni (please ensure that your Instagram account is set to public during the duration of the competition. This is necessary to allow the Promoter to view and consider the entry); OR
- Enter the competition online by submitting the online entry form by the Closing Date.
- No purchase necessary.
- The Promoter will not accept:
- responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
- proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
- By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

- Winners will be chosen by random draws performed by a computer process on the following dates for the weekly £25 prizes, monthly £250 prizes, and the £1000 grand prize (the “Draw Date(s)”):

- Subject to clause 3.11 below, entrants who enter the competition in accordance with these terms will be eligible for draws occurring between the date of entry and the Closing Date.
- Winners of weekly and monthly prizes are ineligible for subsequent weekly or monthly prizes, and their entries will be excluded from those draws. However, all entrants, including previous winners, remain eligible for the grand prize.
4. Eligibility
- The competition is only open to all Ulster University applicants aged 18 years or over and residing in the UK, with valid offers to attend an undergraduate course at Ulster University commencing in September 2024 except:
- existing Ulster University students;
- employees of the Promoter;
- employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
- members of the immediate families or households of 4.1.2 and 4.1.3 above.
- In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition. If you are unable to prove your eligibility, you will be disqualified from the competition.
- The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:
- automatically generated by computer;
- completed by third parties or in bulk;
- illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
- photocopies and not originals; or
- incomplete.
- There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
- The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
5. Prizes
- The prizes are to win a share of £2000. The prizes available to be won are as follows:
- 10 available £25 prizes;
- 3 available £250 prizes; and
- 1 available £1,000 grand prize.
- The prizes are supplied by the Promoter and are subject to availability. The Promoter does not offer alternative prizes.
- The prizes are not negotiable or transferable.
- Prizes must be claimed in accordance with clause 7 below.
6. Winners
- The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
- The Promoter will contact the winners personally as soon as practicable after each Draw Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry via the online entry form or by direct messaging them on Instagram.
- The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will report the winner’s entry onto its Instagram account, @UlsterUni on the Draw Dates specified at clause 3.9.
- If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter via Amy Adair-McCourt, a.adair-mccourt@ulster.ac.uk. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
7. Claiming the Prizes
- The winners of the prizes will be contacted by the Promoter after each Draw Date in accordance with clause 6.2. To claim a prize, the winner will be asked to provide their sort code and bank account number to the Promoter to effect the payment of the prize by way of a bank transfer. Please allow 30 days from the date of the claiming of the prize for the bank transfer to be effected.
- The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
- The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize in accordance with clause 7.1 above within 30 days of being contacted by the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
- The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
8. Limitation of Liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
9. Ownership of Competition Entries and Intellectual Property Rights
- The Promoter does not claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry.
- You agree that the Promoter may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website ulster.ac.uk and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry.
10. Data Protection and Publicity
The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the competition privacy notice. See also condition 6.3 and condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.
11. General
- If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
- The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by Northern Irish law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.
