If something is worrying you and you aren’t sure what to do, confide in someone you trust. It could be a friend, family member or member of staff. Sometimes letting someone know how you’re feeling can be a great relief. If you aren’t able to talk to someone you know, the Student Wellbeing team are available with free and confidential support and if required can support with counselling.

Don’t keep your worries to yourself, contact the team today.

Mind Your Money

If you’re finding it hard to budget, try our tips:

Track your spending – Grab a pen and paper, create a spreadsheet or download a budgeting app and start recording what you are spending. Don’t forget to update it as you spend to see where your money is going.

Essential vs Non Essential – Get practical and make a list of all your essentials such as bills, food, travel. Then make a second list of everything else you spend money on including takeaways, socialising and new clothes. When you add up what you spend, you might be surprised!

Student Money Team – Contact the team for advice and support with funding your studies, budgeting & money management and financial hardship support.

Consent

Consent is OMFG- an ongoing, mutual, and freely-given agreement to take part in sexual activity. It applies to all relationships, all genders, and all sexualities.

To give consent or to get consent from someone else might seem straightforward, but the complexity of relationships and sexual encounters at university can create uncertainty.

Report and Support

Ulster University is committed to supporting students impacted by Sexual Violence and/or Sexual Misconduct. This is the university’s online platform for reporting your experience.

If you have experienced Sexual Violence, or you are concerned about someone else who has experienced this, we can provide support and guidance.
