How to Get Involved
The Race Equality Matters survey is open from Monday 18 November 2024 and will close on Friday 20 December 2024, giving you five full weeks to take part. Completing the survey takes just 10 minutes and you’ll be entered into a draw to win some amazing prizes.
Why Complete the Survey?
This survey is a key part of Ulster University’s mission to advance race equality and ensure an inclusive environment for everyone. By sharing your experiences and thoughts, you’re helping to:
- Provide essential feedback that shapes the university’s race equality strategy.
- Support Ulster University’s application for the Advance HE’s Race Equality Charter Bronze Award in 2025.
- Highlight areas where improvements can be made and celebrate where progress has already been achieved.
Progress So Far
The uni has made significant strides in advancing race equality this year. In February 2024, the Race Equality Charter Institutional Self-Assessment Team (ISAT) was established, co-chaired by Dr. James Uhomoibhi, Chair of the University’s BAME+ Network, and Professor Paul Connolly, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
The ISAT has been hard at work compiling institutional data on staff and students to identify existing patterns and inequalities. However, a vital part of this process is capturing your views and lived experiences – that’s where the Race Equality Matters Survey comes in.
What’s in it for You?
Not only do you get to be part of shaping Ulster’s approach to race equality, but there are also loads of prizes up for grabs, including iPads, hoodies, beanies and lots more.
Take 10 minutes to make your voice heard, help shape our community, and maybe even snag a prize! Let’s work together to make Ulster University a place where everyone feels valued and included.
