Green Dot Video
At Ulster University, we’re dedicated to making our campus a safe and supportive space for everyone. The Green Dot Campaign is here to empower you to take action against unwanted sexual experiences, gender-based violence, domestic abuse, and harassment.
What is the Green Dot Campaign?
Green Dot is a bystander training program that equips you with the skills to recognize, intervene, and report harmful behaviors, helping create a safer campus community for all.
Get Involved
This campaign isn’t just about raising awareness; it’s about taking action. By joining the training and supporting Green Dot, you’re helping change the culture around sexual violence, harassment, and abuse.
Launch Events
We’re officially launching the Green Dot Campaign on all three campuses from 25 – 27 February during Bystander Intervention Week, which is recognized by universities across the island of Ireland. Join us at:
- Belfast: Tuesday, 25 February at 1 pm – BC Level 6 Atrium
- Coleraine: Wednesday, 26 February at 1 pm – Riverside Suite
- Derry~Londonderry: Thursday, 27 February at 1 pm – Minor Hall
After the launch events, there will be Green Dot Workshops that cover sensitive topics and give you practical tools to make a real impact.
Why This Matters
Research from the Unseen at Uni Report (2022) revealed that 63% of students experienced unwanted sexual experiences, including harassment and assault, but only 1% reported it. This shows how important it is to break the silence and take action together.
How You Can Help
The Green Dot Campaign promotes the 3D’s Model – Direct, Distract, and Delegate – practical methods anyone can use to help prevent harm. More than 1,000 students and staff have already completed the training, with 99% feeling empowered to intervene and create a safer environment.
