Have you always wanted to work, study, or volunteer abroad? Get yourself down to Go Global Week! Taking place from the 21-25 October, Go Global promotes the wide range of exciting international opportunities available to you as a UU student. It also gives you the chance to find out about the support and funding available.

As well as advice and guidance provided by the University, external internship and volunteering providers will be on campus to talk to you about their opportunities.

Here is a taster of the engaging and fun activities you can attend acrtoss all three campuses.

Go Global Information Fair

The Information fair is your chance to find out about all the global opportunities available to you, whether you are thinking about work, study, volunteering, graduate work, or a short-term summer programme.

Meet industry experts and the Go Global team who can provide lots of advice and support to prepare you for your experience abroad.

There will also be in-person info sessions from the British Council on the Study USA programme and from Play Action International on volunteering in Uganda.

There will even be the chance to take part in fun activities and win prizes!

Join us for an exciting student panel where other students share their experiences of working and studying abroad! Hear first-hand why they chose to Go Global, the challenges they faced, and the incredible moments that made it all worthwhile.

Whether it's gaining global perspectives, developing new skills, or simply stepping outside of their comfort zones, these students will inspire you to consider working or studying abroad for your own professional and personal growth. Come along to the special Global-themed SU Pub Quiz on each campus and test your knowledge on all things international!

Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of world foods, flags and fun facts!

Chinese Cultural Taster

Join the Confucius Institute and delve into Chinese culture: try your hand at traditional Chinese art and calligraphy, taste some Chinese tea, test your chopstick skills and experience live traditional Chinese musical performances!

Register your place on your chosen campus and immerse yourself in a new culture.

Volunteer in Uganda Info Session

Play Action International are offering Ulster University students an incredible opportunity to join one of their volunteering projects in summer 2025.

Volunteer at a Ugandan school along with other Ulster University students and a local build team to design and build a playground and to support 'Learn through Play' sessions.

Virtual Information Sessions

There will be online info sessions throughout the week, which will provide more information on your next steps to help you Go Global, as well as information on funding and budgeting for a placement abroad.
