Overview
Dr Supriya Chakrabarti is a Lecturer at Ulster University working in the area of new nanostructured materials for energy, biomedical and sensing applications. He has had more than 10 years of research experience in high quality carbon-based and metal-oxide nanomaterials. His research activities are directed to the growth and application of carbon-based nanomaterials and composites. In addition, he has research experience in multifunctional nanomaterials, bio-inspired nanomaterials, bio-mimicking systems, novel energy storage devices, third generation solar cells and sensors.
Supriya undertook his undergraduate and PhD degrees in Materials Science in India where is received several awards in national and international conferences on nanomaterials. He has postdoctoral research experience in Japan, USA and UK. After his PhD studies, he was awarded a National Renewable Energy Fellowship to progress his research work in India. He was subsequently awarded a NEDO Fellowship in Japan in 2004 and ICTP Fellowship in Italy in 2005. His research achievements have been highlighted in Nature Nanotechnology News and Japan Newspaper. He has published over 50 scientific papers (SC's Google Scholar h-index 25) and patents for producing tailored carbon nanostructures. He gets regular invitation as a speaker to various international conferences e.g. ECS, ICTP, ICONSAT, MRSI etc. He has been serving as distinguished referee for high impact journals like Applied Physics Letter, Journal of Applied Physics. Journal of Power Sources, Advanced Functional.
