Overview

Leads a team of marketing and creative specialists dedicated to delivering a brand strategy that is transformative. Her work supports unlocking the potential of people, place and partnership to build sustainable futures for all. Promoting a complex university that plays a special role in the cultural, societal, and economic advancement of northern Ireland, making sustained impact both in local communities and globally. Inspiring the team, by fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation and creativity and motivating them to constantly develop their skills and deliver exceptional work.

Working closely with colleagues across the Directorate, Lynsay co-creates innovative, dynamic and integrated campaigns to drive acquisition, retention and loyalty. Adopting a multi-channel approach that maximises the potential of all traditional and digital channels to build audience engagement with Ulster University locally, nationally and internationally. Ensuring effective forward planning, sequencing, targeting, prioritisation and optimum use of the full media mix. The work of the team has been celebrated by receiving an award from Heist, synonymous with excellence and innovation in education marketing.

Before joining Ulster, Lynsay was Head of Brand at Kaizen Brand Evolution, nurturing teams across the business of sales, design and production. Her five years at the company, saw an increase of team from 7 to 27, securing support and funding from Invest NI, as well as leading a relocation to expanded premises and financial forecasting that led to the successful maturing and sale of the company. Increasing brand awareness and revenue from winning to tenders to taking part in Culture Night, hosting ‘What a Load of Pollocks’, ‘Prints Charming’s Garden’ and ‘GHB’ events. As well as supporting the design community with events such as ‘Evolve Your Business with Design Thinking’, ‘Helvetica Film Screening’ and ‘The Importance of Brand’.

Lynsay’s formative years were spent at Whitenoise, with over a decade in client management, scheduling work flow, pitching concepts and winning tenders. She was instrumental in winning studio accolades at the much coveted IDI Awards and ICAD Awards. It was here that Lynsay had the opportunity to exhibit work at the Naughton Gallery in ‘Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird’ as well as have design work published in several studio books.

Her early career was in design and advertising for global brands at Smarts, a successful career launch from achieving a first class honours degree in Visual Communication from Ulster University.
