Laura Hyde
Overview
Laura Hyde is Law Clinic Manager and Lecturer on the Belfast Campus, having joined the School of Law at Ulster University from Aston University where she held the same posts. Before joining Aston Laura worked as a solicitor in private practice specialising in commercial and property law, having graduated from Cardiff University with an LL.B in Law and a Diploma in Legal Practice.
In her work in Ulster Law Clinic Laura provides an experiential learning environment for the students, facilitates engagement between students and local legal professionals and manages a free legal advice service for the local community. Outside of the University Laura has held the position of Vice Chair of the Birmingham Law Society Pro Bono Committee working to support, promote, signpost and raise the profile of pro bono work in West Midlands area.
Having started her career practising as a solicitor, Laura, a Fellow of Advance HE, has now turned her focus to clinical legal education, being awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education from Aston University. Laura’s lecturing focus is Land Law, Business Ethics and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
