Karen Reid

Overview

Karen is an Impact Officer for AHSS and UBS. She provides guidance, training, and support on all aspects of research impact.

Karen is also responsible for managing the Connected NI programme at Ulster University, which fosters knowledge exchange links between academia and industry.

She is a member of the NCCPE's public engagement professionals network, which aims to support the latest thinking on engagement in higher education research.

Karen joined Ulster University over 23 years ago as a Librarian. She supported academic community members, including students, researchers, and lecturing staff. Later, she moved to the Careers Service and then took up the Marketing and Events Officer position in the Office of Innovation, where she managed the Knowledge Club, an initiative to promote activities and encourage stronger links between the University, industry, and society.

She also supported strategic research communication to external audiences and managed stakeholder engagement.

Karen holds a degree from Ulster University and a post-grad from Aberystwyth University, Wales.
