Within Ulster University and the Northern Ireland Advanced Composites and Engineering centre we have a range of state of the art manufacturing, testing and analysis equipment for advanced composites and polymers. The centre boasts a 3D weaving loom for manufacturing advanced carbon fibre preforms, thermal analysis suite, mechanical testing laboratory with high speed camera, strain gauge and digital image correlation. In addition, we have a composite manufacturing laboratory with robotic capability and a polymer processing lab with extrusion, injection moulding and advanced 3D printing. ECRE has access to other equipment within the Advanced Future Materials & Manufacturing such as CT scanning, XPS, AFM and XRD.
