The TReVER project aims to enhance sustainable community policing within the EU, focusing on countering radicalization and violent extremism through understanding gender dynamics. It seeks to empower communities by tackling the root causes of radicalization and emphasizing gender norms and equality.
By fostering strong partnerships between law enforcement and communities, the project uses validated research and best practices to establish trust. TReVER introduces tools for the prevention, detection, and deterrence of criminal activities, employing innovative strategies, social media, and ethical data practices. It explores the impact of gender equality perceptions on political engagement, incorporating various considerations to address local challenges effectively.
Pilot testing in three EU cities will assess adaptability, supported by interactive training and campaigns to boost law enforcement and public participation. TReVER's goal is to develop comprehensive strategies for mitigating community vulnerabilities, promoting initiatives that support marginalised groups in Europe through collaboration between law enforcement and communities.
