The Virus Health and Wellbeing Checker (V-HAWK) is a simple tool that collects information about people's health. During the current pandemic V-HAWK enables the public, patients and health practitioners to channel real-time data, and identify and test the most promising treatments for preventing and managing disease.
Developed in partnership with Dr Clare Relton (Queen Mary University of London), Dr Lee Smith (Anglia Ruskin University) and Dr Amanda Mason-James (University of York), V-HAWK collects information on virus related symptoms, COVID status, health related quality of life, long standing health conditions and treatments being used.
V-HAWK will enable us to:
- Assess the incidence and prevalence of COVID-19 in the general population
- Obtain information on treatments/ strategies being used
- Assess the impact of COVID and treatments/ strategies being used on health and health-related quality of life
