“We are delighted with our REF 2021 outcome.
The overall position for the Unit indicates that relative to REF 2014 there has been an increase in the overall quality score from 2.9* to 3.2*, with 90% of our research judged to be internationally excellent or world-leading, placing us in the top 20 out of over 100 Business Schools.
This is a fantastic result given that we had an increase in the number of staff submitted by over 50% and was a great team effort, involving much hard work from our staff within the Unit of Assessment as well as professional services particularly from Research and Impact.”

“I would particularly like to thank our UoA members, who supplied high quality outputs and Impact Case studies as part of our REF 2021 submission.
The fact that 86% of our Outputs were judged as world-leading and internationally excellent ( 3/4* levels) and 100% of our Impact Case studies were judged as being internationally excellent or world-leading illustrates the quality of researchers we have in UUB”
