The University recognises that the misuse of alcohol or drugs can be considered to be an illness and can result in an adverse effect on a person’s health, safety and welfare and work performance. Under the Health and Safety at Work Order (NI) 1978 the University is required to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of its employees, students and others at work. This document therefore sets out the University's Procedure on Alcohol and Drug Misuse.
