To mark the Black History Month celebrations this year, the BAME+ Network at Ulster University, in collaboration with UK-Pivot ran an event with the theme “The Significance and Role of Privilege on Culture and Rights: Impact on Black Lives and People of Diverse Origin” which took place on the Belfast Campus.
This event screened a short film of the acclaimed UK-Pivot “Privilege Walk” documentary which was followed by a panel discussion on the significance and role of privilege on culture and rights of people and communities and the impact on black lives and people of diverse origin.
The panel comprised of experts and representatives of the students, staff, and members of local communities from both far and near. These include student leaders, academic experts and community leaders drawn from the Students Union, Staff, UK-Pivot, and other organisations.
