Riverside Theatre Coleraine Transports Audiences into another World

This Halloween, the Riverside Theatre Coleraine proudly presents the world premiere of a fantastic new theatre production ‘The Revenant of the Riverside’. Written and directed by Kat Woods, audiences can look forward to an immersive interactive ghost hunt tour, between the 25 – 30 October 2024.

The storyline follows big-time developers who plan to demolish the theatre to make way for new luxury riverfront apartments—until the community highlights the Lisnabulrevey Rath Act, preventing any work on a site displaying supernatural phenomena. Enter The Soothsayer, who breaks the invisible wall between our world and the next, inviting audiences on an ethereal walking tour of the theatre to summon spirits from the after-life and experience supernatural wonders aplenty.

Writer and Director Kat Woods explains:

“I wanted to create a spooky theatrical experience that the entire family can enjoy, using the beautiful landscape around the Riverside Theatre from the river Bann to the legend of Cushy Glen. Making the make believe feel real as the audience travel through the theatre space indulging in a unique look at behind the scenes of a busy theatre environment prepping for Macbeth. Tradition would have it that we always leave a light on in the theatre, some say for safety others believe it's to chase away mischievous spirits.!”

Riverside Theatre Manager, Roseanne Sturgeon adds:

“Expect to see the theatre as you have never seen it before, with atmospheric illusions and hallucinatory special effects transporting you to the other world!”
