Derry City and Strabane Region joined the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Global Network of Learning Cities in 2019 committing to focusing on using learning to tackle inequalities by:
- removing barriers to learning,
- making learning accessible to everyone in the city,
- making learning enjoyable.
A learning city promotes lifelong learning for everyone, mobilizing resources in every sector to promote inclusive learning from basic to higher education. It encourages learning in families, communities and in the workplace, enhancing the quality and excellence in learning and extending the use of modern learning technologies.
Throughout the week long festival, Ulster University will be hostinga range of events including; Introduction to Acting, Inside the Ceramics Studio: A making session and a Manchester United Foundation and Ulster University - STEM Event All SySTEM’s Go. These events will be open to a range of age groups.
