The University of Ulster’s 2013 graduations continued at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast today when students from the Faculty of Life & Health Sciences and Faculty of Social Sciences received their awards.
The morning ceremony sees an honorary degree awarded to software entrepreneur Mr Brendan Mooney, who received the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) for his services to business development.
In the afternoon, educationalist Mr John Fay of CAFRE receives the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc), in recognition of his significant contribution to education .

Previous honorary graduates have included Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney, distinguished playwright Brian Friel, Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Pat Jennings, musician Van Morrison, Lonely Planet author Maureen Wheeler, actors Ewan McGregor and James Nesbitt, actresses Sinead Cusack and Amanda Burton, as well as F1's Eddie Jordan, writer Colin Bateman; sportsmen David Humphreys and Peter Canavan, popular broadcaster Wendy Austin and entertainer Gary Lightbody.
