Norman Crowley, one of Ireland’s most successful business people,will be inDerry~Londonderrythis weekfor a major international business conferencehosted by the University of Ulster.
Mr Crowley is the chairman and founder of Crowley Carbon, a Wicklow-based energy services provider, which recently signed a €64 million (£54.3 million) deal to deploy its smart building technology to some of the tallest buildings in the world.
He will be the keynote speaker for the KESInternational Innovation through Knowledge Transfer Conference in the City Hotel on Thursday April 11 – Friday 12 2013.
Hosted by the University of Ulster, and supported by Colleges Northern Ireland and Londonderry Chamber of Commerce, the focus of the conference will be on innovation and knowledge transfer.
Eddie Friel, Head of Business Development at Ulster’s Office of Innovation explained: “The event will provide the business community with an excellent opportunity to learn about how they can benefit from academic research.
“It will be an excellent opportunity to learn about and discuss the impact of ‘university-business’ and ‘business-business’ interactions.”
Mr Crowley will share his expert insight into leading business issues and practical ideas on how to develop a business to maximise performance.
Serial technology entrepreneur, Norman Crowley has founded several successful technology ventures, including ‘The Cloud’, Europe's largestWifioperator and‘Inspired’the world's largest player in the area of Server Based Gaming which was floated on the London Stock Exchange.
More recently,he launched the energy services company, Crowley Carbon todevelopand patenta range of cutting edge technologies to improve energy efficiencyandreduce waste.
The conference will also include workshops on Knowledge Transfer, Research and Enterprise Funding facilitated by representatives from Ulster’s Office of Innovation,InvestNI,InterTradeIrelandand FUSION.
