Ulster University Library at Derry~Londonderry collaborated with Conflict Textiles to exhibit two works by textile artist Eileen Harrisson to bring focus to the many pieces she has made over the years and her dedication to bringing to life the lived experience of others.

The two pieces on display until the end of Jan 2025 will be Continuum, which depicts her family's experiences of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, and Her Pillow, the Earth, made in response to the Conflict Textiles exhibition War-Torn Children.

Eileen's works have been part of many exhibitions internationally, and "Her Pillow, the Earth" was featured in the book Arpilleras Poéticas.

This is a satellite exhibition (event details via Conflict Textiles) of the Conflict Textiles retrospective exhibition Threads of Empowerment: Conflict Textiles' International Journey at the Ulster Museum, Belfast (June 2024 - March 2025). More information can be found at this Summary page.

The exhibition launched on 23rd May with the artist, family and the extended community attending.  The Conflict Textiles tribute to artist Eileen Harrisson and her presentation can be viewed in a short film below, commissioned by Conflict Textiles and the John Hume and Thomas P.
