Biography
Dr Neal Cook is a Reader, Associate Head of School (Nursing), and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Neal is also President of the European Association of Neuroscience Nurses and an Executive Board Member of the British Association of Neuroscience Nurses.
Neal has worked in nurse education for 18 years, with a passion for supporting students in their education both in practice and in the University. He has has a passion for improving the education experience of learning anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology for students of nursing, leading the development and publication of a series of books in this regard.
With others, he has led the development of life support education within the School of Nursing, including a community of practice, and has leaderships roles in working regionally and nationally in developing learning support tools for practice learning in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
Neal has published clinical, research and education papers in the fields of education, person-centeredness and neurosciences and is dedicated to the application of person-centred frameworks to both practice and education in his pedagogical and scholarly work.
