Dr Priyanka Chaurasia is a Lecturer in Data Analytics, with a BTech in Information Technology from the Harcourt Butler Technical University, India, in 2006 and a PhD in Computing and Information Engineering from Ulster University, UK, in 2013. Before her PhD, she was with IBM India Software Labs, India, for 3 years as a staff software engineer. She has patents granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the area of signature verification and is a recipient of the IBM Invention Achievement Award in 2008. Post PhD, Priyanka has worked in different RA positions at Ulster University for five years, including a three-year post at the Northern Ireland Connected Health Innovation Centre (CHIC). In July, 20218, Priyanka was appointed as a Lecturer at the School of Computing & Intelligent Systems, at Ulster University within the Human Centred Computing research group.
Priyanka completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice (PgCHEP) in the summer of 2020, attaining Fellow of the Higher Education Academy status.
Priyanka’s main research areas are assistive technology for measuring and motivating healthy behaviours, supporting ageing in place, activity recognition, data analytics, and toxicology.
