Challenge
The KTP aimed to develop a Smart Data Mining System (SDMS) for inclusion within the current and future range of CDE machines that would provide vital design and performance information for designers and users of the equipment.
For the Company, this would not only improve operation, design, manufacture, sales and servicing, but would also provide the customer with detailed insight into the operation, efficiency and performance of their ‘Rapid’ machine, which was a major capital investment.
Solution
This KTP project facilitated a collaboration with Ulster University to develop:
- Smart Data Mining that improves operation, design, manufacture, sales and servicing of CDE machines.
- Functionality that provides customers with detailed insight into the operation, efficiency and performance of CDE products.
- A market leading position for CDE in the field of Smart Manufacturing - This Smart technology was identified as an important aspect of CDE’s Customcare strategy to grow sales and assist with future technology developments of their equipment.
- CDE is currently pioneering this technology in the industry, enabling it to get closer to its customer operations and create competitive advantage.
