"It has been a brilliant experience that has changed me for the better".

In 2021/22 I undertook my placement year with CB Ross Partners in Toronto, Canada.

It was brilliant to experience a different culture and see a different way of of life. I have made great friends along the way that I will take beyond this placement!

I joined a number of football teams and clubs when I was there and it was an easy way to make friends.

There is a great Irish community in Toronto which was helpful and made me feel at ease.

The biggest challenge was the winter months as Toronto gets cold with the snow.

Another challenge i faced at the time was the COVID restrictions which made the winter months harder but I learned to adapt  relatively quickly.

During my placement I  was able to travel as much a possible and visited New York, Banff, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Alberta.  This is an added benefit of studying abroad as you can use your free time to go and explore.

I would highly encourage students to study or take a placement abroad. It has been an experience I will not forget and will look back on fondly.
