International Student Advisory Service

The International Student Advisory Service provide a dedicated service for international students on non-academic and welfare matters such as immigration and adjusting to life in Northern Ireland.

Our highly experienced and professional team specialise in UK student immigration advice and can support you with wide range of immigration-related matters.

This includes:

  • Student Visa applications
  • The Graduate Route Visa - applications and issues
  • Visa curtailment (cancellation of your visa by UKVI)
  • Lost passports
  • Studying in the UK with Visitor status
  • Visit visas for family and friends to visit you in the UK
  • Changes to your programme of study
  • Post-study work visa options (UK work visas)
  • Schengen visas and other visas related to travelling
  • E-visa issues

Non-immigration support is also available, we can provide advice related to living and learning in Northern Ireland.  We also organise the University's International Student Orientation programmes and coordinate events for international students throughout the year.  The team can give you advice and support on the follow non-immigration areas:

  • Online enrolment and registration
  • Opening a bank account
  • GP & dentist Registration
  • Exploring the UK
  • Finding part-time work
  • Making friends
  • The Global Buddy Scheme
  • Advice on academic English support
  • Travel to campus

If you want to meet with a member of the team on campus, you can drop-in between 10am-4pm Monday to Friday during term-time, at the following locations:

  • Belfast: BA-02-016
  • Coleraine: E026
  • Derry~Londonderry: MC012

We will also be available at our weekly Coffee and Chat sessions, these are informal drop-ins on each campus which run throughout the academic year.
