Foundation courses
Qualifications
- HSC/HSCC (Higher Secondary School Certificate with 50% overall to include 50% in 5 subjects (to include 50% in Maths for STE)
- FSc (Federal Secondary Certificate)
- FA (Federal Certificate in Arts)
- I Com (Intermediate in Commerce also known as ‘Inter’)
Undergraduate courses
Each programme will have slightly different requirements, both in terms of overall points and certain subjects, so please check the relevant subject in the undergraduate on-line prospectus.
Normally Ulster University welcomes applications from students with:
Qualifications
- Successful completion of HSSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate)/ HSC/ Intermediate with 75% overall. Where a course has A-Level subject-specific requirements 75% will be required in each of these subjects
OR
- Associate degree (four semesters) with 55% or above
OR
- 2 year Bachelor degree with 55% or above
OR
- Bachelor of Science in Home Economics awarded after 4 years study after SSC

Postgraduate courses
Typically we require applicants for taught programmes to hold the equivalent of a UK first degree (usually in a relevant subject area). Please refer to the specific entry requirements for your chosen course of study as outlined in the online prospectus. We consider students who have good grades in the following:
Qualifications
- 4 year Bachelor degree (ECCTIS equivalency- Bachelor degree)
- 2:1- 2.8/4 GPA / 65%
- 2:2- 2.4/4 GPA/ 55%
- Please note 50% or above can be accepted for 4 year degrees from University of the Punjab
OR
- 5 year Bachelor of Laws (ECCTIS equivalency- Bachelor degree)
- 2:1- 2.8/4 GPA / 65%
- 2:2- 2.4/4 GPA/ 55%
OR
- 3 Year Bachelor of Laws (ECCTIS equivalency- Bachelor (ordinary) degree)
- 2:1- 2.8/4 GPA / 65%
- 2:2- 2.4/4 GPA/ 55%
OR
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery/ Doctor of (ECCTIS equivalency- Bachelor (honours) degree) with GPA 2.2/4/ 50% or above
OR
- 3.5 OR 4 year MBA following a 2 year Bachelor degree (ECCTIS equivalency- Masters degree) with pass
OR
- 2 or 2.5 year MBA following 4 years university education (eg 4 year BS/BSc or 2 year BA followed by 2 year MA) (ECCTIS equivalency- Masters degree) with pass
OR
- 1.5 or 2 year MBA following 4 years of university education in a management field (eg 4 year BBA or 2 year BA and 2 year BBA) (ECCTIS equivalency- Masters degree) with pass
OR
- 2 Year MBA following a 2 year Bachelor degree (ECCTIS equivalency- Bachelor (Ordinary) degree)
- 2:1- 2.8/4 GPA / 65%
- 2:2- 2.4/4 GPA/ 55% OR
- 2 year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Post RN) (ECCTIS equivalency- Bachelor degree)
- 2:1- 3.0/4 GPA / 65%
- 2:2- 2.5/4 GPA/ 55%
OR
- Master of Laws (ECCTIS equivalency- Masters degree) with pass
OR
- Masters degree (following a four year bachelor degree) (ECCTIS equivalency Masters degree)
- with pass
OR
- Masters degree (following a two or three year Bachelor degree) (ECCTIS equivalency Bachelor (Ordinary) degree)
- 2:1- 2.8/4 GPA / 65%
- 2:2- 2.4/4 GPA/ 55%

English Language Entry Requirements
Normally the minimum English language entry requirement is IELTS (academic) of 6.0 (with no band score of less than 5.5).
Some of our courses ask for a higher score.
If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
We accept a wide range of alternative English language examinations and tests so please check the list of other accepted tests
