Course Duration and Delivery Format
Course start date: January 2025
The course will be taught on the Derry-Londonderry Campus in day ‘blocks’ with additional online content to support learning.
This course is taught over 5 days, divided across a three month time frame.
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
A range of mediums will be utilised to inform and embed learning; such as, facilitative learning, lectures, tutorials, guest lectures, workshops, simulations, directed learning, online learning resources and case studies. Knowledge and understanding of the subject is disseminated through methods which reflect the distinctive nature of a mini MBA module. Therefore, applied learning utilising live, in-company examples and students' own work experience will feature in many of the learning situations.
In addition, the learning and teaching methods used to develop professional/practical skills place emphasis on group work and experiential learning. The development of these skills will include understanding and recognising individual learning styles, and individual contributions in group processes. Verbal and written feedback is provided to identify and confirm good practice.
Soft skills, such as communication, are embedded throughout the fabric of the module. In particular, they are established and developed through the completion of reflective exercises, practical and applied exercises, work-based assignments, case studies and peer presentations.
The course is 100% coursework.

You should hold a Second-Class Honours Degree or better OR have significant managerial / business experience.
This version of the course content is designed to resonate with women who are returning to the workplace or seeking to refresh and enhance their professional skills. It emphasizes personal empowerment, leadership, and the development of key skills needed to succeed in modern work environments.

- are ‘settled’ in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland, and has been ordinarily resident in the UK or ROI for at least three years; or
- are a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK or ROI.
