This is phase one of two research calls. We are seeking proposals of up to £30,000 which can be completed within 6 months, to examine a range of thematic issues related to economic activity and socio-economic factors which have relevance for the NI skills and employability landscape.

The overall aim of this research call is to build a robust evidence base of policy orientated research that can contribute towards a more inclusive and sustainable labour market in Northern Ireland.

Who should attend?

This event is of interest to academics and researchers, policy makers, community and voluntary sector, skill and economy sectors, special educational needs and disability sector, children and young people/ childcare sector, health and social care and individuals working in the climate and environment sector.

We are open to all types of policy orientated research, including empirical studies, literature reviews, benchmarking studies and understanding what works both in NI and across other regions, which may have learning for NI. However, we also strongly encourage collaborations between academics and community and voluntary sector which provide insights into the lived experiences of individuals facing barriers to skills and employability. Therefore a passion for working collaboratively is vitally important.
