Join the  Halloween celebrations in Derry-Londonderry, with Drama at UU!

Be inspired by current students who will reinterpret a selection of the stories of Tim Burton’s career, giving a new life to these extraordinary characters through live interactive performances. These performances are directed by Giuliano Campo.

Tim Burton's filmography is characterised by a unique cast of eccentric and misunderstood characters, often portrayed as creative outsiders or "freaks" whose differences are both a blessing and a curse. His work spans various media, including illustrated gothic tales featuring gruesomely sympathetic children struggling to find acceptance. Burton's films are known for their dreamlike quality, blending fantasy, horror, and macabre elements. His characters often embody unusual physical attributes, exploring themes of race, class, gender, and disability through their corporeal representations.

Despite initial scepticism, Burton has established himself as a true artist in Hollywood, successfully balancing mass appeal with personal style. His films are described as poetic blockbusters with distinctive charm, offering mythical and magical cinema that reflects reality while remaining melancholic, humorous, and visually stunning.
