Performance, Composition, Musicology and Music Technology...

Those are the four core tenets of your undergraduate Music degree. You will study on the picturesque Magee campus in the Foyle Arts building where we have our practice rooms and studios. Traditional elements of performance are combined with music technology and the opportunity to perform and attend gigs throughout the year.

Our music staff have the creative, academic and industry chops to teach you how to approach a career in the creative industries, to find out where you fit in and how best to navigate "The Business". We have regular performances by international acts in our own Great Hall and a larger creative community to draw on within the School of Arts and Humanities.

Ulster University Choir

The Ulster University Choir has gained considerable popular and critical acclaim for its distinctive and dramatic performances presented in beautiful ecclesiastical settings.

Shaun Ryan, Senior Lecturer in Music and Choral Director, has been instrumental in developing the reputation of the Choir over the last fifteen years. Through the audition process, the Choir’s membership is drawn largely from the student cohort of the BMus (Hon) (Bachelor of Music) degree programme, which is delivered at the Magee campus of the University, from the wider student/staff community outside of the Music Department and from the general population outside of the University environment.  Around 80% of the Choir’s membership is made up of Music students.
