Shadowing university lectures and learning how to mentor and tutor lower year groups.

Outline of Activity

This activity enables Computing students in Jordanstown and Environmental Science students in Coleraine to shadow university lecturers as well as mentor/ tutor lower year groups

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of fundamental computing or laboratory related knowledge.
  • Understand how different students learn and hence be able to reflect on their own approach to learning.
  • Communicate technical concepts.
  • Understand basic pedagogic practice.

Assessment Details

Student tutors must take part in an induction session and weekly discussion sessions on Blackboard Learn.

Level of Commitment

Student tutors must complete at least 32 hours to be eligible for certificate.
