This EDGE activity is designed to foster partnerships between the undergraduate students in the School of Geography and Environmental Sciences and school departments in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Outline of Activity

A number of key recruitment events take place within the School of Geography and Environmental Sciences throughout the academic year. Additionally, schools are keen to have university ambassadors to give talks and run events throughout the year. This EDGE activity is designed to foster partnerships between the undergraduate students in the School of Geography and Environmental Sciences and school departments in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Learning Outcomes

Throughout the course of your involvement in supporting faculty events, you will get the opportunity to develop, use and refine a range of skills and capabilities including:

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Team working Skills

Assessment Details

Complete a logbook - detailing your input into events as agreed by the School of Geography and Environmental Sciences co-ordinator.

This should include a breakdown of time allocated to each task. For example, if you are delivering a presentation to school pupils you will have spent time preparing the presentation, delivering the presentation and evaluating the presentation.

After completing the logbook, please ensure it is validated by the Project Coordinator.

Level of Commitment

Students are required to complete 20 hours (includes: preparation time, attending event/s, self-assessment / reflection and completion of activity logbook)
