These sessions provide student learners with a background in social security law in NI and GB (Open to Law and Social Work students)

Outline of Activity

The purpose of this training is to provide students with a knowledge and applied competence in relevant social security benefits to promote intellectual growth.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session learners will understand:

  • current structure and legislative framework of welfare benefits system
  • the different categories of social security benefits and the relationships between them
  • the agencies involved in administration mechanisms to dispute benefit decisions
