The Healthy Heroes initiative is a 5 week programme engaging KS2 pupils in primary schools on the importance of healthy eating.

Outline of Activity

This activity is for current students studying Dietetics, Nutrition or Human Nutrition. In collaboration with the activity co-ordinators you will work with local schools to educate young people on the importance of healthy eating.

Learning Outcomes

The Healthy Heroes initiative aims to educate pupils on the importance of healthy eating and in leading a better lifestyle by increasing knowledge and awareness of healthy eating through a series of engaging and interactive lessons.

It is hoped that the Healthy Heroes initiative will have a positive impact on the lifestyle choices the pupils make and help them become ambassadors for their school as well as the community.

Assessment Details

Pre and post skills development evaluation for UU students, feedback from school teachers and school pupils

Level of Commitment

30 hour commitment including pre delivery training, preparation and delivery in schools and evaluation
