Advice for students graduating Summer 2025
1. Check your EDGE activities are recorded
As you come to the final stages of your EDGE Award the first thing you need to do is check which activities are recorded on your EDGE Award record.

2. Your Final Application
Once you have all your completed activities recorded the final stage is for you to complete a short final application.
Final Application to be completed in your final semester
The final stage of your EDGE / EDGE Excel Award is a short final application. Please note that you must complete this to achieve your EDGE / EDGE Excel Award. This short application covers 3 purposes:
- You will provide the list of completed EDGE activities which means we can then check and verify the completion of your Award
- You will rate your skills development based on the activities you have completed
- You will provide us with any recommendations that will help us improve the EDGE Award

The following EDGE activities are ideal for finalists as they can be done in a short period of time and help you with your career planning

Design Your Career Journey
This activity will support you to plan your career journey supported by our expert team. You will attend an initial webinar that will brief you on the requirements on this activity and then you will be supported to research and explore viable career options with a view to create a specific, confident career development plan.

Career Confident
This self directed activity can be done in your own time. Engage with our digital tools to help you get ready for your graduate job search and get EDGE accreditation for your updated CV, completed LinkedIn profile and improved interview skills.

External Training Course Accreditation
Have you completed recent courses outside of your degree? If you have then you might be able to get EDGE Award recognition.

Volunteering and roles within UUSU
If you are volunteering in a role and complete more than 20 hours you can get an EDGE Award activity for your efforts and development. If you are a Course/Department/Faculty Rep, Student Councillor or UUSU Society member you can also get EDGE Award recognition.

EDGE Excel Award Student of the Year 2025
Those undergraduate students who are completing the Ulster EDGE Excel Award are eligible to nominate themselves for our prestigious Ulster EDGE Excel Student of the Year Award. More details on how to nominate yourself will be provided in February.
