Ulster University is delighted to have secured funding from the Department of the Economy to support the Graduate Boost Programme commencing January 2025. The programme combines a 15 week internship with a 15-credit postgraduate module in ‘Developing a Professional Identity’ delivered by Ulster University for 15 unemployed and underemployed graduates with disabilities.

Programme Highlights

Recruitment Timeline

  • Graduate application open - Mon 25th Nov - Sun 15th Dec
  • Brokerage & Appointment Period - Mon 16th to Wed 8th Jan
  • Pre-Internship Induction (UU) & Onboarding (Internship Provider) - w/c Mon 13th Jan
  • Internship commences - Mon 20th Jan to Fri 25th Apr

Programme Eligibility Criteria *

As of 13th January 2025 if you are a graduate with a third level qualification such as Bachelor’s or Master’s degree you can apply to the Graduate Boost Internship Programme which has a limited number of 15-week internships with employer partners.

You must be:

  1. unemployed or underemployed graduate of any discipline
  2. eligible to work in Northern Ireland and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years, or
  3. a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK

You must have a disability or long-term condition defined by Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA), as amended, in Northern Ireland.

This includes people with, for example: dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD, mobility impairments, sensory impairments, long term conditions such as IBS, diabetes, Chron’s disease, epilepsy, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia or mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar and OCD.

We are inviting graduates who have faced barriers to graduate level employment.
