Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise
The latest version of Microsoft Office is available to download for current students, free of charge. You can run Office on up to 5 desktop Mac or Windows workstations. You can also run Office Mobile on up to 5 mobile devices (on supported operating systems).
Important note: after you leave and your Portal access is withdrawn, the Office suite will enter a state of reduced 'read only' functionality. You can choose to continue read-only, to purchase a personal licence to regain full functionality or to remove the software entirely.

SPSS statistical software
Students can download SPSS which is a powerful statistical analysis program used for doing advanced statistical analysis of data for research and other projects.
You should note this software is already installed on University workstations..

Jisc Online Surveys
Students who require an Online Survey account should make a request to their supervisor. If approved, the supervisor should complete the Unidesk self service portal form. Once your request is approved, you will be emailed a link to your Ulster University email address to activate your account.
NVivo
NVivo is software for Microsoft Windows that supports qualitative and mixed methods research. It lets you collect, organise and analyse content from interviews, focus group discussions, survey, audio - and social media data, YouTube videos and web pages.

Matlab
MATLAB (matrix laboratory) is a multi-paradigm numerical computing environment. A proprietary programming language developed by MathWorks, MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, Fortran and Python.
