Digital Services have an agreed timeline for the installation of additional software in student IT laboratories.

All applications must be made before 31 May each year in order for the SITL review group to consider inclusion in lab images.

Unless categorized as urgent, requests after 31 May will be installed during the Christmas break, otherwise charging will be applicable.

Whilst every effort will be made to facilitate requests, applications received after this period and particularly during term time may not be fulfilled due to work schedules of ICTCS support staff and availability of rooms.

It should also be noted that the process of adding software to our images and subsequent deployment to the labs during term time involves an increased risk of disruption to teaching.

For this reason, deployment will only be scheduled out of hours (i.e. a Friday afternoon/evening allowing the weekend to resolve any issues that may arise as a result). Faculties or departments making the software request will be expected to pay all associated costs.
