This study will use collaborative methodologies to evaluate the Neighbourhood District Nursing programme with a view to creative shared ways forward to enhance the provision. The research question will focus on, to what extent, and in what ways Neighbourhood District Nursing contributes to person-centred care and the health of the public. Drawing upon existing literature, using the skills of facilitation and collaborative, multiple method research processes, the researcher will work with key stakeholders to take forward an innovative, transformational programme of work. A Collaborative Key Stakeholder Team will help inform and guide the conduct of the study. The researcher will undertake a review of existing literature relating to Neighbourhood District Nursing.
Data/information will be collected using a range of methods including documentary analysis, discussion groups, interviews and surveys in collaboration with people who use services, primary care teams, district nursing staff and managers. A collaborative approach will be taken to data analysis. Recommendations will be generated to influence policy and practice directed towards enhancing inclusive and person-centred district nursing provision.
