PhD Manager
PhD Manager is the online tool used by PhD Researchers, supervisors, examiners, Research Directors, Postgraduate Tutors and administrative staff to manage all PhD related administration.
What is the system used for?:
- organise, submit notes and record outputs from supervision meetings
- identify and book training courses
- request changes to your programme (e.g. mode of study, project title, supervisory arrangements, withdrawal)
- submit an extension of time or leave of absence request
- record absences and track holiday leave
- submit work, record and receive outcome notifications for assessment seminars
- submit annual reports (both supervisors and PhD researchers)
- submit theses (both pre-examination and final copies
Workflows:
The system workflows ensure approvals for any requests are dealt with by the appropriate person and required actions will be added to the approvers task list. PhD Researchers are able to see which stage of approval their request is sitting and to whom the task has been assigned. This transparency allows for a gentle 'nudge' to ensure requests are approved in a timely manner.
Notifications:
The system sends out auto-generated approval/outcome notifications to all relevant parties.
Tracking deadlines:
Research Directors, Postgraduate Tutors and the Doctoral College team will use the reporting suite within PhD Manager to track outstanding deadlines.
To access the system, simply use the link below and enter your usual computer login details.
To help you navigate around the system you will find comprehensive guides in the PhD Manager- Guides section.
