About Planning Schools Forum
The Planning Schools Forum (PSF) provides a collective voice for the community of planning schools, both accredited and not, and promotes the values of planning education, regarding teaching and research, as collectively agreed by PSF members. PSF acts as a lobbying organisation to argue for the importance of high-quality planning education and related issues.
PSF manages the annual UK-Ireland Planning Research Conference, deciding where it shall be held and what the focus of each year’s conference should be. The PSF represents all planning schools accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) but is independent of the RTPI.
Current PSF membership includes over 30 universities across the UK, Ireland and internationally with each institution having a nominated member. Institutions that do not have a current RTPI-accredited programme can still be a member of PSF and are welcome to join if they wish to.
PSF meets at least quarterly, normally online, with a further in-person event each year that aligns with the UK-Ireland Planning Research Conference and includes the PSF AGM.
