Located in the North West of Northern Ireland and a short distance from County Donegal, Derry~Londonderry is ideally situated for exploring some of Ireland’s most dramatic landscapes.

Travel to Derry~Londonderry Campus has recently improved with the launch of Foyle Metro's new zero-emission vehicles and contactless ticketing. The all-new Foyle Metro electric bus service makes Derry~Londonderry one of the first cities in the UK and Ireland to operate a fully zero emission urban bus service.
The Contactless ticketing on Foyle Metro services means that you can buy your bus ticket from the driver using your debit/credit card or smart device.
The Foyle Metro single fare is £1.80 and the Foyle Metro mLink Day Ticket is £2.10 giving unlimited day travel on Foyle Metro services and is a great value option if you are making several journeys during the day.
The Foyle Street Bus station, just 1km away, connects to Derry~Londonderry Campus with frequent bus services across the province and Republic of Ireland including Omagh, Strabane, Coleraine, Belfast and Dublin.
You can also avail of bus services from the Foyle bus station to the campus with 15 bus services per hour at peak times (between 7am-9am) and 8 services per hour off-peak serving Magee campus. The outbound bus services on Strand Road are 1a, 11a, 12a, 13a & 13b and inbound are 1a, 1b, 11a, 12a, 13a, 13b & 13c. The bus services operating outbound via Northland Road are 9a, 10a, 10b & 11b and inbound are 9a, 10a, 10b & 11b.
The Goldline bus routes from the Foyle bus station connect to towns across the province and Republic of Ireland including Omagh, Strabane, Coleraine, Belfast and Dublin. including the following:

There is an hourly train service from Derry~Londonderry to Belfast with a free shuttle bus (2d) connecting the rail service from the Northwest Transport hub to the Foyle bus station.

Please note the rail connection service (2d) departing the Northwest Transport Hub at 2130 on a Sunday evening (term time only) connects to the campus and Duncreggan Student Village.
If you live nearby, cycling, walking or running to campus is a sustainable and healthy option. There are advisory cycle routes along Strand Road connecting to the campus and 6 cycle parking locations throughout the campus, with a Cycle Hub located within the MG Building. Shower facilities are available in the sports centre, Block MG and Block MU.
The Cycle Hub is access controlled, so staff and students should apply for access stating name and staff/student number by emailing carparks@ulster.ac.uk.
We would encourage you to consider carsharing with your fellow students or colleagues. Sharing rides not only reduces your carbon footprint but also helps you save on fuel and parking costs.
Staff and students can avail of the university car sharing permit.
Ulster University is also a member of Liftshare, which is a flexible platform that helps connect staff who want to share car journeys. You don’t need to have a car to get started as you can register as a passenger.
