Supporting Access
Community Scholarships help those with potential overcome financial and personal barriers to attend Ulster University.
Over 40% of our 27,000 students present with Widening Access indicators such as financial hardship, care experience and health issues, which complicate and compromise successful study. We support students to help minimize the financial barriers to education and help them thrive and succeed in their studies.
To ensure those with potential can come to Ulster and have the means to see out their education, over the next 5 years, we aim to double our efforts to support 1,000 students.
Can you help us support our most vulnerable students? Help us encourage those most at risk to take the step into university by offering confidence and security. Join us to support our most talented and committed students to reach their full potential.

“Having entered the care system as a teenager, I was determined that education would transform my life, despite little encouragement to study.
The scholarship I received was invaluable, allowing me to, against all the odds, reduce my working hours so I could focus on my studies and achieve my potential. It simply would not have been possible without the scholarship.”
