UU Connects is excited to bring you the latest event in this Ulster Talks Series; an evening in conversation with Pete Snodden, renowned broadcaster, speaker, DJ, host, and we’re proud to say, alumnus of Ulster University.

Pete’s voice is instantly recognisable to many owing to almost twenty years as host of the breakfast show at Northern Ireland’s number one radio station, Cool FM. When he’s not in the studio, Pete often finds himself in front of a live audience through the diverse range of activities and projects he has been involved in.

Pete has opened for the former President of the United States, Barrack Obama, at his keynote speech in Belfast ahead of the G8 conference. He has broadcasted live from the red carpet at the MTV European Music awards and has hosted many events including Red Bull’s ‘Crashed Ice’ and ‘Soap Box Race’, ‘Heineken Star Serve’, ‘Sports Relief’’ and the closing ceremony of the World Police & Fire Games. Pete is an experienced speaker and host, who has expertly compered a wide range of charity, corporate and private events. Not to mention, he has DJ’d for sold out crowds all over Northern Ireland and beyond.

Aside from Pete’s remarkable career experiences, he is a true champion of ‘giving back’ and volunteering. Pete is a proud ambassador for the ‘Prince’s Trust’, ‘Young Enterprise Northern Ireland’ and is a board member of ‘Cinemagic’. Pete is husband to Julia, and together they have two daughters. Pete is a huge sports fan, in his free time he plays hockey and golf, and has a love for football and rugby.

Our host for the evening is Professor Paul Moore, Director of Future Screens NI and Co-Director of Ulster’s Creative Industries Institute. Paul first joined Ulster University in 1999 and has since been active in the development of the creative arts/industries policy in the university. He was the Ofcom Content Board member for Northern Ireland from 2007 to 2013, and in his spare time, Paul is a freelance broadcaster with BBC Radio Ulster and has written and presented a range of documentaries for BBC national radio.

With Pete and Paul heading the bill, we are in for an exciting evening filled with compelling conversation, interesting anecdotes and top tips on navigating a career in the creative industries.

Why not join us and enjoy a front row seat to this ‘In Conversation’ event! You will also have the opportunity to ask Pete or Paul a question of your own.

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.
