Ulster University graduates, friends and guests are warmly invited to join our upcoming Burns Night Celebration at the Derry~Londonderry campus, in recognition of our historical and cultural connections with Scotland and Ulster Scots.

The event will feature an exclusive performance of ‘Not So Serious Burns’, a theatre-in-education play funded by The Ulster Scots Agency and delivered by the Bready and District Ulster Scots Development Association.

Expect music, poetry, highland dancing and drama; this fast-paced performance promises an entertaining and fun experience for all ages. Visit Bready Ulster Scots' website to find out more about ‘Not So Serious Burns’ and further educational outreach programmes.

Ulster University’s Dr Frank Ferguson, Director of the Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies, will give a short talk on the connections between Burns and Derry/Londonderry. PhD Researcher, Grainne Milner McLoone will explore some of Burns most well-known songs, and we will hear some of Burns poetry recited by Niamh McNally.

For the grown-ups – you will also have the chance to raise a glass and enjoy a warming wee dram of Irish whiskey distilled locally by Wild Atlantic Distillery, founded by very own UU graduate, Jim Nash.

Tickets are free but spaces are limited. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
